MODIFIED PUBLIC HEALTH ORDERS FOR PERSONAL SERVICES EFFECTIVE MAY 1

Governor Mark Gordon announced on April 28, 2020 that new public health orders, effective May 1, will allow nail salons, hair salons, barber shops, massage therapy, tattoo, piercing, cosmetology, etc. to reopen under specific operating conditions.

Requirements for these facilities include:

•No more than nine (9) people in a room.

•Service stations must be six (6) feet apart.

•Staff are to be screened daily for symptoms/exposure to COVID-19.

•Records of customer visits and staff working hours must be maintained.

•Patrons/staff are required to wear face coverings at all times.

•Appointments only. No walk ups allowed.

•No waiting areas allowed.

•Sanitization is required after each patron, including hand washing by staff.

•Exceptions may be requested through the Albany County Public Health Officer.
