Modified Public Health Orders for Child Care Facilities Effective May 1

Governor Mark Gordon announced on April 28, 2020 that new public health orders, effective May 1, will allow child care facilities to reopen under specific operating conditions.

Requirements for these facilities include:

•Restricted to a maximum of ten (10) individuals in each separate room.

•More than ten (10) will be allowed in the facility only if rooms are full rooms (no partitions).

•All staff and children must wash their hands upon arrival.

•Staff and children to be screened daily for symptoms/exposure to COVID-19.

•A confirmed COVID-19 case from staff or an enrolled child will result in closure of the facility.

•Children must be met at door, no entry other than staff/children will be allowed in the facility.

•Sanitization of touched surfaces and items after each use or at least twice per day.

•Child care providers that open under these requirements must prioritize essential personnel.
