California man denies prostitution-related charges
A California man suspected of transporting a person to Montana for prostitution denied federal charges in Billings on Monday.
Larry Burnell Sept Jr., 43, pleaded not guilty to an indictment charging him with transportation of a person with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. He was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Carolyn Ostby.
The indictment alleges Sept knowingly transported or aided and abetted in transporting a person for prostitution from Idaho to Montana from Aug. 20 to 26.

Law enforcement officials arrested Sept in California on a warrant on Sept. 28.
If convicted, Sept faces a maximum 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Ostby ordered Sept to remain in custody. The case will be heard by U.S. District Judge Susan Watters.
