Billings police arrested three people early Thursday after a reported robbery and assault on the South Side led to a brief chase.
A news release from Sgt. Harley Cagle said that Zachary Jackson, 26; Robin Trusty, 26; and Lacee Jackson, 28, were all arrested on suspicion of felony robbery and misdemeanor obstruction.
Just before 1:30 a.m., police were called out to a robbery report at Lee’s Saloon, 530 S. 27th St., in which two males and a female robbed a woman in her car and assaulted her at the bar. Shortly after, the same suspects robbed and injured a male in a second vehicle.
Cagle said that police learned the suspects had left in a dark sedan and soon after tried to pull it over after they found it driving in the area of 10th Street West and Broadwater Avenue.
However, the sedan didn’t immediately stop and a short chase ensued before the people in the car stopped it and tried to run away. Police caught three of the four people in the car, later identified as Jackson, Trusty and Jackson, Cagle said.
All three were booked into the Yellowstone County Detention Facility and police continue to investigate.
