A Billings man was charged Thursday with taking nude photographs of a 14-year-old girl.

Andrew Edward Rowland, 28, appeared in Yellowstone County Justice Court by video from the county jail, where Judge Pedro Hernandez charged him with a single felony count of sexual abuse of children.

Hernandez set Rowland’s bond at $40,000 and ordered him to appear in District Court on Oct. 18.

Court documents say police were called Tuesday to a report of a prowler at a Billings house where a woman said a man, whom she believed was Rowland, had been outside taking pictures of her teen daughter.

The girl told police she was naked in her room earlier when she noticed a camera flash outside of her window.

Rowland was at the house when police arrived and initially denied taking pictures.

The affidavit says that Rowland gave the woman his phone, where she and her daughters, the youngest aged 14, found nude photos of the younger girl.

When he later spoke with an officer, Rowland apologized, said the officer should “just punch him in the face” and admitted to taking the photographs of the younger girl.
